Use & Care
To Wash: Machine washable for easy cleaning in cold water. Before First Use: Wash separately in cold water prior to use. Colors may fade or bleed; please handle with care, and never lay a wet rug on a wooden floor. Hang to dry.
Sustainability
The Shala Yoga Rug is made using pre-consumer cotton apparel scraps from local factories, which reduces waste and upcyles existing materials instead of sending them to the landfill. It is handloomed by a community of traditional artisans in India who are dedicated to preserving time-honored techniques passed down through generations.
Since the beginnings of the Black Mat, Manduka has been inspired and guided by a responsibility to reduce global consumption by making better products that last longer. Our design approach is rooted in principles of conservancy and transparency, creating mats, towels, props and apparel while also making every possible effort to minimize environmental waste. We’re constantly searching for innovative partners and updated technologies to further respect the land upon which we place our mats and our intentions.
