Meet the GRP Adapt®
Discover the GRP® Adapt and see how it can elevate your practice!
GRP® Adapt Features
What’s it made of?
The GRP® Adapt is crafted from a combination of open-cell PU and natural rubber. This design helps absorb moisture while giving you a reliable grip whether your practice is dry or sweaty.
Its core and bottom layer are made from sustainably harvested natural tree rubber and produced in a eco-friendly factory in Spain that emits no toxic chemicals. That means it’s not only good for your practice, but also kind to the planet.
I have a latex sensitivity. Can I use the GRP® Adapt?
Thanks to Manduka’s careful manufacturing process, the GRP® Adapt is 99% latex-free. If you’re extremely sensitive to even small amounts of latex, we recommend choosing a mat from one of our other series.
Where is the GRP® Adapt made?
The GRP® Adapt is sustainably crafted in Spain, combining natural rubber with a moisture-absorbing PU top layer designed for both performance and the planet.
What does it mean that the GRP® Adapt has an open-cell surface?
The GRP® Adapt features an open-cell, absorbent surface, which means it soaks up moisture and provides reliable grip even during the sweatiest, hottest yoga sessions. Its innovative top layer ensures your hands and feet stay in place, no matter how intense your practice gets.
Because of its open-cell, moisture-absorbing design, the GRP® Adapt may show signs of wear a bit sooner than mats with a closed-cell construction. It’s a trade-off for superior grip and comfort.
What type of yoga is the GRP® series designed for?
The GRP® and GRP® Lite are perfect for hot yoga or any practice where you want to skip using a towel. Their moisture-activated grip actually improves as you sweat, giving you better traction when you need it most.
The GRP® Adapt is versatile enough to provide ultimate slip control from gentle, slow flows to the most intense, sweaty sessions.
GRP® Hot Yoga Features
What’s it made of?
The GRP® mats combine open-cell PU with natural rubber to absorb moisture and give you maximum grip as you sweat.
The core and bottom layer are made from sustainably harvested natural tree rubber and produced in an eco-friendly factory in Spain that emits no toxic chemicals. That means it’s good for your practice and kind to the planet.
I have a latex sensitivity. Can I use the GRP® mat?
Thanks to Manduka’s careful manufacturing process, the GRP® mat is 99% latex-free. If you’re extremely sensitive to even small traces of latex, we recommend choosing a mat from one of our other series.
Where is the GRP® mat made?
The GRP® Hot Yoga mats are sustainably crafted in Spain using natural tree rubber and a moisture-absorbing PU top layer designed for performance and eco-friendliness.
What’s the difference between the GRP® Hot Yoga and the GRP® Adapt?
Both mats feature an absorbent PU top surface and a natural rubber bottom, but the GRP® Adapt has a smoother PU texture than the original GRP®. This makes the Adapt versatile for both dry and wet conditions, so you can use it in cooler classes as well as in hot, sweaty sessions.
What does it mean that the GRP® has an open-cell (absorbent) surface?
The GRP® Series features an open-cell, moisture-absorbing surface that soaks up sweat and provides reliable, anti-slip grip even during the hottest, sweatiest yoga sessions.
Because of this open-cell design, the mat may show signs of wear a bit sooner than mats with closed-cell construction. It’s a trade-off for superior grip and comfort during your practice.
Use & Care
How do I care for my GRP® mat?
Keep your GRP® mat performing at its best with Manduka’s GRP Yoga Mat Restore. It’s specially designed to condition, clean, and prevent buildup on your mat, helping extend its life and maintain optimal performance.
Monthly GRP® Restore:
-
Use a clean, damp cloth make sure there’s no excess water.
-
Pump 2–4 pumps of GRP Restore foam onto the cloth.
-
Apply gentle pressure and wipe the top surface of your mat, covering the entire area.
-
Rinse the cloth thoroughly to remove any leftover foam, then wipe the mat again with clean, damp water.
-
Hang your mat to dry completely before rolling and storing.
⚠️ Important:
-
Do not use this as a daily cleaner this is meant for monthly maintenance.
-
Mats that absorb moisture (like the GRP® Series) should never be treated with disinfectants, as the liquid will soak in and can’t be fully removed.
-
Do not use Manduka Botanical Cleaner on this mat.
How do I store my GRP® mat?
To keep your mat performing its best, always let it dry completely after use and store it rolled up. Avoid leaving it in direct sunlight. Because of its open-cell, moisture-absorbing design, the GRP® Series may show signs of wear with heavy use but that’s the trade-off for superior grip and comfort.
Can I use Manduka’s Mat Wash & Refresh on my GRP® mat?
Yes! Spray the mat’s top surface and wipe it clean with a damp cloth. You can also spray the cleaner directly onto a damp cloth before wiping. This method helps prevent the PU surface from absorbing too much liquid.
For tougher spots or stains, apply Mat Wash & Refresh generously to a damp cloth and gently scrub. Always let your mat dry completely before rolling it up or using it again.
💧 Daily Refresh: Use Mat Wash & Refresh to keep your mat clean and ready for your next practice.

Sustainability
What makes the GRP® Series sustainable?
The GRP® mats are designed with both performance and the planet in mind. The core and bottom layers of the GRP® are made from sustainably harvested natural tree rubber. Because the mats are moisture-absorbent, they will naturally show signs of wear over time.
Both the GRP® and GRP® Adapt are manufactured in Spain through processes that minimize waste and toxic emissions, maximize efficiency, and promote recycling. The GRP Adapt’s bottom layer uses a rubber composite that includes sustainably harvested natural tree rubber, making it both eco-friendly and high-performing.
Is it normal for my GRP® mat to wear out?
Yes! The GRP® mat features an open-cell surface that absorbs moisture and sweat, making it perfect for hot yoga and keeping your grip strong throughout practice. Because it soaks up moisture, the mat naturally breaks down over time with regular use.
The GRP® has a tri-layer construction, with a thin top layer that allows moisture to reach the middle layer. Over time, the top layer may show signs of wear and tear this is completely normal for an open-cell mat.
If you’re looking for a mat that can handle more vigorous or heavy use, consider our PRO Series, which has a single-layer, closed-cell construction designed for maximum durability.
